TFC 101 Communication and Presentation

যোগাযোগ ও উপস্থাপনা

In a post-pandemic world run with computers, Tensor graduates will feel at equal ease making a presentation at a board meeting or pitching their ideas on Snapchat or Instagram. Our communication and presentation module is an integrated course that incorporates theory of communications as well as several hands-on projects. The learning outcome is to produce students who are mass-media savvy as well as having the critical tools to process all the information that is out there so that they can become engaged and informed citizens of the workforce.

আমাদের লক্ষ টেনসরের স্নাতকরা কম্পিউটার চালিত এই মহামারী উত্তর পৃথিবীতে বোর্ড মীটিং থেকে শুরু করে সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে তাদের আইডিয়া উপস্থাপনায় সমানভাবে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করে। আমাদের যোগাযোগ ও উপস্থাপনা মডিউলটিতে অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকছে যোগাযোগ তত্ত্ব থেকে শুরু করে বেশ কিচ্ছু ব্যাবহারিক প্রোজেক্ট । এই মডিউলটির শিক্ষা লক্ষ হল এমন ছাত্রছাত্রী তৈরি করা যারা সব রকম সামাজিক মাধ্যমেই স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করবে এবং সেসব মাধ্যমে উপস্থাপিত তথ্যকে সঠিক ভাবে বিবেচনা করে কর্ম ক্ষেত্রে অবগত নাগরিক হিশেবে অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারবে।

TFC 102 Math and Critical Thinking

গণিত ও বিশ্লেষণী চিন্তা

Mathematics is the backbone of all sciences and businesses. To ensure that our graduates are math literate we teach them the basics of arithmetic, geometry, calculus as well as probability and statistics. These lessons aim to develop the aptitude for critical thinking in real world scenarios. They receive training in advanced logic, rational thinking, and computational thinking all of which is geared towards formulating strategies for analyzing and solving complex real-world challenges.

সকল বিজ্ঞান ও ব্যবসা–বানিজ্যের পিছনে রয়েছে গণিত। আমাদের স্নাতকরা যেন গণিতে শিক্ষিত হয় সেই জন্যে আমরা তাদের পাটিগণিত, জ্যামিতি, ক্যালকুলাস ছারাও সম্ভাবনা ও পরিসংখ্যানের মৌলিক শিক্ষা দেই। এই শিক্ষা থেকে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা বিভিন্ন বাস্তব পরিস্থিতিকে যুক্তিযুক্ত ভাবে বিশ্লেষণ করার ক্ষমতা অর্জন করতে শেখে। অগ্রবর্তী যুক্তি, সুবিবেচক চিন্তা, গানিতিক চিন্তা – এই সব কিছুতেই তাদের প্রশিক্ষণ দেয়া হয় যেন তারা বাস্তব সমাজের বিবিধ জটিল সমস্যাকে বিচক্ষণ ভাবে বিশ্লেষণ করে সমাধান করতে পারে।

TFC 103 English Writing

ইংরেজি রচনা

Students benefit from a mastery of English as a global language and a doorway to the world. To navigate today’s workforce graduates, need good command of English to express their ideas. This course introduces English writing with an emphasis on expression and creativity as well as correct internationally recognized usage. Students are taught using primary sources from literature, sciences, and philosophy, and re-introduced to major elements and tools of writing. Students will have to read and write extensively, with assignments due every week, and through feedback will learn to evaluate their own work. 

আজকের জগতের সার্বজনীন ভাষা ইংরেজি এবং এই ভাষাকে আয়ত্তে আনা মানে আধুনিক পৃথিবীর চাবি হাতে পাওয়া। যদিও টেনসরে আমরা আমাদের বাংলাদেশে উৎস ও আমাদের মাতৃভাষা বাংলা নিয়ে অত্যন্ত গর্বিত, আমাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি আন্তর্জাতিক। উপরন্তু  ইংরেজি ভাষার খুব ভাল দখল না থাকলে এবং ইংরেজিতে নিজেকে প্রকাশ না করতে পারলে আজকের কর্ম জগতে খুব স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করা কঠিন। সেই জন্যে টেনসরে আমরা ইংরেজি লেখার ওপর বেশ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে থাকি, বিশেষ করে আধুনিকভাবে স্বীকৃত ইংরেজিতে কিভাবে নিজেকে প্রকাশ করা যায় আর সৃজনশীল হওয়া যায়। সাহিত্য, বিজ্ঞ্যান আর দর্শনের প্রাথমিক উৎস ব্যবহার করে আমরা ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ইংরেজি শিক্ষা দেই।

TFC 121 Ethics & Philosophy

নৈতিকতা ও দর্শন

Ethical leadership is sorely needed in today’s world, and one of the main founding goals of Tensor is to develop ethical leadership. In this course ethics is taught both from an abstract as well as an applied point of view. Philosophy is presented as the art of thinking and by studying how philosophers throughout the ages dealt with the great questions of good and bad, students are expected to understand the development of ethical leadership. 

আজকের পৃথিবীতে নৈতিক নেতৃত্বের অভাব প্রকটভাবে প্রতীয়মান। নৈতিক নেতৃত্বের বিকাশ উৎসাহিত করা টেনসর প্রতিষ্ঠার অন্যতম উদ্দেশ্য। তাত্ত্বিক এবং ব্যাবহারিক, এই দুই দৃষ্টিকোন থেকেই টেনসরে নৈতিকতার শিক্ষা দেয়া হয়। টেনসরের পরিবেশ ও সংস্কৃতিতে নৈতিক আচরণ উৎসাহিত ও সমন্বিত। অন্য দিকে,দর্শন হলো চিন্তাবিদ্যার মেরুদণ্ড। ইতিহাসের বড়ো দার্শনিকরা কিভাবে ন্যায়ের বড়ো প্রশ্নগুলোর সমাধান খুঁজেছেন তা অধ্যয়ন করেই একমাত্র আমাদের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা শিখতে পারবে নৈতিক নেতৃত্বের কলা। আর এর জন্যই নৈতিকতার পাশাপাশি দর্শন অধ্যয়ন করে আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা।

TFC 122 Sciences

বিজ্ঞান

One cannot grasp the pulse of the world today without understanding the great advances of science in modern times. Discussions about vaccines, gravitational waves, information technology, global warming, renewable energy permeate the public discussions of the day. They set the agenda for tomorrow and our graduates need to understand the essence of science and its methodologies to be effective citizens. Thus, at Tensor we aim to give a wide and thorough overview of the main branches of modern science using important breakthrough and controversies from the history of science to drive home the lessons of modern science. 

আধুনিক বিজ্ঞানের  সবচেয়ে প্রধান অগ্রগতির সম্পর্কে অজ্ঞাত থাকলে এই আধুনিক যুগের নাড়ি বোঝা সম্ভব নয়। বর্তমান কালের প্রকাশ্য বিতর্কে অংশ নিতে চাইলে জানতে হবে ভ্যাক্সিন, মাধ্যাকর্ষনীয় তরঙ্গ, যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন বা নবায়নযোগ্য শক্তি ইত্যাদি সম্পর্কে। এই সবই নির্ধারিত করে দেয় এই যুগের আলোচনায় বিষয় আর তাই বিজ্ঞানের মূল প্রশ্নগুলো ও তার পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে অজ্ঞ থাকলে কার্যকর নাগরিক হওয়া সম্ভব নয়। এই কারণে টেনসরে আমাদের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের আধুনিক বিজ্ঞানের প্রধান শাখাগুলোর বিস্তীর্ণ ও পরিপূর্ণ শিক্ষা দেই তার সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ,  যুগান্তকারী ও বিতর্কিত আবিষ্কারগুলোকে উধাহরণ হিশাবে ব্যবহার করে।

TFC 123 English Literature

ইংরেজি সাহিত্য

In this course English literature will be introduced by particularly considering its place in Bangladeshi culture, even recalling that modern Bengali literature emerged primarily in its encounter with western, especially English literature. The course covers study highlights from Shakespeare to Arundhati Roy. English literature is taught with a comparative literature mindset so that students can appreciate the wider network in which modern literature takes place.

পশ্চিমের সাথে, বিশেষত ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের সাথে, আমাদের পরিচয়ের থেকে উৎপত্তি আধুনিক বাংলা সাহিত্যের। আর এই কারনেই ইংরেজি সাহিত্য এবং তার শিক্ষাকে আমাদের সংস্কৃতিতে এতটা গুরুত্ব দেয়া হয়। যেই সকল ছাত্রছাত্রী আমাদের ইংরেজি রচনার মডিউল দ্বারা উৎবুদ্ধ হয়ে আরও পড়াশুনা করতে চায় তাদের জন্যে আমরা ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের ওপর এই মডিউলটিতে বানিয়েছি শেক্সপিয়ার থেকে অরুন্ধতী_রায় পর্যন্ত ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের বিভিন্ন উল্লেখযোগ্য লেখা সংগ্রহ করে। তুলনামূলক সাহিত্যের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি থেকে এই মডিউলটি পরানো হয় যাতে পাঠকরা বিশ্ব সাহিত্যের বৃহত্তর প্রেক্ষাপটে ইংরেজি সাহিত্যকে স্থাপন করতে পারে।

TFC 131 Law, Human Rights & Public Administration

আইন, মানবাধিকার, ও জন প্রশাসন

The development of ethical leadership requires a solid understanding of contemporary questions in law, human rights and public administration. This course on law, human rights and public administration is taught to cover modern practices in both the international and national contexts. Students will learn what it means to be responsible, socially conscious citizens of Bangladesh, and of the world.  Students will learn key concepts, engage in discussion of those concepts, and analyze real-world cases to understand their application. 

এই সময়ের আইন, মানবাধিকার আর জন প্রশাসনের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রশ্ন থেকে অনুপ্রানিত টেনসরের নৈতিক নেতৃত্বের পাঠ্যক্রম। দেশী ও আন্তর্জাতিক আধুনিক প্রয়োগের পটভূমিকায় এখানে আইন, মানবাধিকার আর জন প্রশাসন পড়ান হয়। টেনসরের স্নাতকদের কাছ থেকে আমরা আশা করতে পারি আধুনিক প্রয়োগ সম্পর্কে বিস্তৃত জ্ঞান থাকার যেন তারা আগামী দিনের আইন আর জন পরিষেবার ক্ষেত্রকে উন্নতির দিকে নিয়ে যেতে পারে। 

TFC 132 Music and Arts Appreciation 

সঙ্গীত ও শিল্প

Music and other Arts comprise a universal set of languages for human communication and expression of ideas. This course introduces music for its fascinating breadth, covering genres and great musical traditions from various time periods and across regions & communities, as well as their roles and impact. Special emphasis is placed on covering Bangladesh’s rich heritage of art, literature, and music. 

শিল্প, সাহিত্য আর সঙ্গীতে ঐতিহ্যপূর্ণ এই বাংলাদেশ। টেনসরে আমাদের উদ্দেশ হলো বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যৎ নেতৃত্বকে গড়ে তোলা আর এই উদ্দেশে আমারা সফল হতে পারবো না যদি না আমাদের স্নাতকরা নিগূঢ় ভাবে  না জানতে পারে মানুষ হিশাবে তাদের পরিচয় কি। আমাদের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এই দেশের শিল্প আর সঙ্গীতের সাথে সাথে আমরা তাদের পশ্চিমা বিশ্বের সঙ্গীত ও শিল্পের ঐতিহ্যের সাথে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেই। তাদেরকে শিক্ষা দেয়া হয় যে আমাদের শিল্পকলা হল এক বিশ্বব্যাপী মানবিক ঐতিহ্যের বহিঃপ্রকাশ।

TFC 133 Computers for Productivity

উৎপাদনশিলতার/অগ্রগতির জন্যে কম্পিউটার

Computing technology can have a tremendous positive impact on individual productivity. This course covers a wide range of applications and techniques that leverage computing and information technology for improving productivity. In addition to introducing traditional applications such as word processing, spreadsheets & PowerPoint, the course leads students to acquire valuable skills such as video-editing, online scheduling, networking. Students will also learn the basics of programming, and an introduction to various specialized software that is used for industry and administration. 

কম্পিউটার ব্যবহারে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করা আধুনিক জগতে টিকে থাকার জন্যে অপরিহার্য আর এই কারণে প্রত্যেকটি মডিউলের পাঠক্রমে আমরা কম্পিউটারের ব্যবহার অপরিহার্য করা হয়েছে। তদুপরি আমরা আমাদের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের বিভিন্ন ব্যবসা আর প্রশাসনে যে বিশেষ সফটওয়ার ব্যবহার করা হয় তার প্রশিক্ষণসহ পাইথন ব্যাবহার করে কম্পিউটার প্রোগ্রামিং এর হাতেখড়ি দিয়ে থাকি। এই কালের জ্ঞান অর্থনীতিতে কম্পিউটারের ব্যবহার উৎপাদন প্রক্রিয়ায় কোন না কোন স্থানে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে এবং আমাদের উদ্দেশ আমাদের স্নাতকরা যেন এরকম প্রেক্ষিতে সফলতা অর্জন করতে পারে। 

TFC 141 History

ইতিহাস

This course introduces the study of history as an awareness of identity, with special emphasis placed on the history of Bangladesh in the context of world history. Where possible, the course covers history as a living subject told by the actors, large and small. Original texts are used to convey the fundamental excitement of history as authoritative insightful texts are used to put time into narrative focus.

ইতিহাস সম্পর্কে অজ্ঞ হওয়ার মানে হল নিজের পরিচয় সম্পর্কে অজ্ঞ হওয়া। টেনসরে বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস পড়ানো হয় বিশ্ব ইতিহাসের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে। মুখস্তর জন্য বিবিধ তারিখের এক দীর্ঘ তালিকা নয়, ইতিহাস পরানো হয় বড়ো ছোট যারা ইতিহাসের নায়ক নায়িকা তাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি থেকে। ইতিহাসের প্রদীপ্তি বোঝানর জন্যে ব্যবহার করা হয় প্রাথমিক উৎস আর পাণ্ডিত্যপূর্ণ উৎস থেকে ঘটনার ধারাবাহিকতার ভেতরে উপস্থাপন করা হয় সময়কে।

TFC 142 Personal Health, Finance and Wellbeing

In an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world, graduates will face job changes, a need for lifelong learning, and previously unforeseen challenges. This course introduces steps that students can take to preserve their physical and mental wellbeing. The course will help students develop knowledge, attitudes, and skills in a wide variety of health-related topics, including physical health, mental health, nutrition, social health, fitness, health-services delivery, stress and anxiety management, and personal safety. A special module on responsible personal financial management is included in the course. 

TFC 143 Economics, Business and Trade

This course introduces principles of economics, including the economic thought, market economics, behavior of consumers and firms, and the analysis of macroeconomic variables such as output, employment, inflation, and interest rate. The role of government will be considered. Students will also learn the functioning of firms in terms of the various business administration activities such as marketing, operations, and finance.
