Winter School 2024

Tensor announces the 3rd Tensor PSI Winter School on Theoretical Physics organized in collaboration with the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, Canada

Date: 8th to 20th January 2024

Location: Tensor Centre, Mohakhali, Dhaka 1212

The winter school aims to bring together some of the brightest physics undergraduates from Bangladesh for two weeks and give them a blended learning experience of some topics that are not usually covered in undergraduate physics curricula.

The topics covered will be:

  1. Symmetries (by Dr. Giuseppe Sellaroli)
  2. Quantum Information (by Dr.Alioscia Hamma)
  3. Path Integrals (by Dr. Dan Wohns)
  4. Numerical Methods (by Dr.Aaron Szasz)

The format of the school will consist of sessions of exclusive pre-recorded lectures from theoretical physicists from the Perimeter Institute and in-depth hands-on problem solving tutorial sessions with trained Tensor staff in person.

Necessary Background

All interested undergraduates with backgrounds in physics, mathematics, and engineering from Bangladesh are encouraged to apply. To get the most out of the school it is highly recommended that applicants have a good background in quantum mechanics.

For the application you will need the following:

  1. Proof of background in quantum mechanics. This could be in the form of a scanned copy of your transcript.
  2. A short personal essay about why you want to take part in the school.

Application Deadline: 5th January 2024, Friday For the qualifying candidates, the school is free.
